I recently got myself a 3D printer. I’m loving the thing. I was able to find the app OctoPod the developer has done a good job and should be commended. However it’s not optimized for larger screens like the iPad or computer. It also is not cross platform. Relegated to iOS only.
A skin deep resemblance
Enter OpenOcto. My new project. The design is a work in progress. It’s currently based on OctoPod however heavily modified to make use of larger screens. I will continues to refine the design as I develop the app. That however is where the similarities end. OpenOcto is created using Googles Flutter framework. A native cross platform library.
- To be portable between multiple systems iOS (iPhone, and iPad), Android (tablets and phones), Windows, Mac, Linux.
- Scalability management of 1 or many printers (printer farms).
